The Organisation of Horsebox and Trailer Owners horsebox breakdown scheme was founded over 20 years ago by Jon Phillips, Managing Director of PRP Rescue Services. It was a direct response to a problem encountered by one of his colleagues who broke down on the way home from a horse show. In spite of being a member of one of the major rescue Organisation, he was unable to get horsebox breakdown assistance for his vehicle, and ended up paying a small fortune to get his horses home.
Thanks to Jon's quick thinking and hard work, thousands of members are now guaranteed immediate back-up from the thousands of Authorised AA Recovery agents throughout the UK. For members tralling abroad there are a further 10,000 garages and service points throughout Europe.
The diagram opposite shows just how frequently the unexpected can happen. Through PRP Rescue and the OHTO, one freephone call is all it takes to gain instant access to the largest dedicated UK and European horsebox and car and trailer breakdown service available.
Roadside repairs, towing and overnight stabling are all FREE to members. The only thing members pay for is the cost of any parts - and this can be done at a later date - there's no need to carry large sums of money.
